Chimney Removal Northamptonshire

August 1, 2024

We have recently completed the safe removal of a chimney and breast in a property in Northamptonshire. We were asked to remove an unsupported and unsafe chimney as its condition posed a serious risk to the property. The owners sought out our expertise and knowledge to safely remove the hazardous structure and restore the integrity of their home.

Our experienced team approached the task with caution and carefully began dismantling the chimney which we could clearly see was leaning to one side on the roof. We then began the same process to the breast inside the house ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding areas.

The successful removal of the chimney and breast has significantly improved the safety and stability of the property. The property owners can now rest easy, knowing that their home is secure and free from the risk posed by the previously unstable structure. Chimney Repairs on a Listed Building in Cambridge

December 15, 2023

In this post, we take a look at a recent project in which we carried out some chimney repairs on a beautiful listed building in a conservation area in Cambridgeshire.

The chimneys had suffered from weathering and decay, and needed some urgent attention to prevent further damage and ensure safety. As the building is listed and located in a conservation area, we had to work closely with the local planning authority and heritage experts to ensure that our repairs were in keeping with the original character and style of the building.

We used traditional materials and techniques, such as lime mortar, handmade bricks, and lead flashing, to repair the chimneys and restore their appearance.  The result is a set of chimneys that look as good as new, but also blend seamlessly with the historic fabric of the building.

It was a pleasure to work on such a stunning property and to contribute to its preservation for future generations. If you have a similar project in mind, or if you need any advice on building or restoring listed buildings or properties in conservation areas, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We had to respect the historical and architectural value of the property, while ensuring the safety and functionality of the chimney. Chimney Repairs Northamptonshire.

December 15, 2023

We are proud to share one of our recent projects where we carried out some repointing and repairs to a chimney in Northamptonshire. The chimney had suffered from weathering and erosion over the years, and needed some attention to restore its appearance and functionality.

We used a scaffold tower to access the chimney safely and efficiently. We removed the loose and damaged mortar from the joints, and cleaned the bricks with a wire brush. We then applied new mortar to the joints, using a colour-matched mix to blend in with the existing brickwork.

The result is a chimney that looks as good as new, and is ready to withstand the elements for many years to come. Our client was very happy with our work, and we enjoyed working on this project.
