Comprehensive Site Clearance in Northamptonshire

August 25, 2024

At TDJ Construction, we take pride in transforming potential into reality and our recent building plot clearance and site clearance project in Northamptonshire is a testament to that commitment. Our team undertook the meticulous task of clearing a large plot of land, removing various structures including outbuildings, sheds, and a greenhouse, along with significant amounts of waste material. The goal was to prepare the land, making it safe, clean, and ready for future construction endeavours.

Every structure and item of waste was methodically dismantled, removed, and disposed of responsibly. This included old outbuildings, sheds, and a dilapidated greenhouse, creating a blank canvas for the next phase of development. With the site now cleared and ready for development, the possibilities are endless. Whether it’s new housing, commercial buildings, or community spaces, TDJ Construction is excited to see the transformation of this once cluttered plot into something extraordinary.

Renewal of Gravel Drive Market Harborough

August 21, 2024

At TDJ Construction, we believe that the driveway is the first impression of any home. Recently, we had the pleasure of renewing a gravel driveway at a charming property in Market Harborough. This project not only enhanced the curb appeal of the home but also provided a durable and low-maintenance solution for the homeowners.

The existing gravel drive had served its purpose for many years but had begun to show signs of wear and tear. Uneven surfaces, scattered stones, and areas of sinking were not only unsightly but also posed potential hazards for vehicles and pedestrians. The homeowners wanted a fresh, clean look that would be both functional and visually appealing. After discussing the homeowners’ preferences and needs, we proposed a complete renewal of the gravel drive. Gravel is an excellent choice for driveways due to its affordability, ease of installation, and natural drainage properties. It also adds a rustic charm that complements various architectural styles.

The renewed gravel drive offers a durable and low-maintenance solution for the homeowners. With proper care and occasional topping up, the driveway will continue to look pristine for years to come. It’s a testament to the quality and attention to detail that TDJ Construction brings to every project.

Lime Mortar Restoration

June 8, 2024

TDJ Construction have recently completed another superb project in Rothwell where we restored an historical brick wall using Lime Mortar. The wall was showing signs of deterioration through age as the original Lime Mortar had begun crumbling or missing from the bricks compromising the walls stability and appearance.

Our experienced team meticulously removed the old, damaged mortar to prepare the wall for restoration. We carefully selected traditional lime mortar to match the original construction and successfully restored the wall’s structural integrity as well as maintaining its historical authenticity and appearance.

This was another project the property owners were delighted with, in particular the care taken to maintain the wall’s character.

Chimney Repairs on a Listed Building in Cambridge

December 15, 2023

In this post, we take a look at a recent project in which we carried out some chimney repairs on a beautiful listed building in a conservation area in Cambridgeshire.

The chimneys had suffered from weathering and decay, and needed some urgent attention to prevent further damage and ensure safety. As the building is listed and located in a conservation area, we had to work closely with the local planning authority and heritage experts to ensure that our repairs were in keeping with the original character and style of the building.

We used traditional materials and techniques, such as lime mortar, handmade bricks, and lead flashing, to repair the chimneys and restore their appearance.  The result is a set of chimneys that look as good as new, but also blend seamlessly with the historic fabric of the building.

It was a pleasure to work on such a stunning property and to contribute to its preservation for future generations. If you have a similar project in mind, or if you need any advice on building or restoring listed buildings or properties in conservation areas, please do not hesitate to contact us.
